Job Description
The Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will function under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation, the Clinical Coordinator, and the staff Occupational Therapists. The COTA follows the treatment plans as established by the Occupational Therapist and administers modalities and other related procedures, under the prescription of the patient's physician and supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Treatment will be provided in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards, to help attain the patient's maximum level of independence and performance. He/she is responsible for documentation and communication of all necessary information to all appropriate parties. The COTA is responsible for care of patients in all areas of OSU Medical Center, as situation requires. The COTA must follow standards of performance for Occupational Therapist Assistants as established by all governing bodies. He/she also performs other duties as required.
Requirements
Education
- 2 year Associate Degree
- OK license as Occupational Therapist Assistant (new graduates must take the exam within 3 months & receive full licensure within 9 months
- American Heart Association BLS
