This role entailsorganizing engineers' work schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times.Additionally, it involves approving all engineers' time records and managingrequests for vacation and time off. The position is also accountable for theoperation and upkeep of all split systems, package units, ice machines,lighting systems, as well as electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systemsacross all campus buildings. It necessitates direct communication with variousvendors for the maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment, lighting systems, andplumbing systems. Furthermore, it requires interaction with staff, faculty, andstudents to ensure a high-quality work environment. Some travel may be requiredfor this position. SpecificTasks : The Building Engineer Supervisor dedicates 30% of their timeto the management of support operations, which includes the creation,oversight, and timely distribution of incoming FMX work tickets. This roleensures that assignments are properly received and that tickets are closed inan appropriate manner. Another 30% of their time is allocated to the operation andmaintenance of building systems, which encompasses the management of heating,ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, and plumbing across all campusfacilities. This involves effective communication and interaction with variousvendors for the maintenance and repair of HVAC, plumbing, and lighting systems,as well as liaising with campus departmental contacts regarding facilitymanagement issues. Additionally, 30% of the supervisor's time is spent on thesupervision and training of building engineers and engineering technicians.This responsibility includes ensuring that team members are proficient in theirassigned tasks, scheduling engineers weekly to ensure adequate coverage,approving time, attending meetings, and providing updates on work status to theAssistant Director of Building Operations. Skills, Knowledge, and Proficiencies : - Proficiency in HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, fan coil units (FCUs), variable air volume systems (VAVs), and air handling units (AHUs). - Familiarity with operating systems, preventive maintenance practices, and software applications such as Excel, Word, and Access, along with effective communication and copier operation skills. - Understanding of laboratory requirements, OSHA standards, and basic skills in carpentry, elevator systems, plumbing, electrical work, and lighting.
