Job Summary: | Reports directly to the Facilities Management Landscape Services Assistant Manager and works closely as a team with Landscape Services Department shops; Design, Installation, Maintenance and Shop Support. On-call, overtime including weekend and evening assignments will be required. Must work safely and promote a safe environment. |

Position Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: High School/GED Four years of landscape maintenance, irrigation, or other related experience and supervisory work; OR Two years post-secondary education in an irrigation, landscaping, horticulture or related experience. Stable work history. Have before hire and maintain after hire a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned. Strong attention to work detail, leadership, decision making, and organizational skills. Strong work ethic, intense drive and initiative for quality and customer service. Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills Ability to motivate, evaluate and effectively supervise staff as a team. Ability to train and direct the work of others. Ability to use a shovel and other plumbing tools, irrigation trencher, lift 50 lbs and work in inclement weather to meet the physical requirements as determined by the position and job duties. Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. Strong communication skills to team both written and verbal. Advanced computer skills. Knowledge of manual and/or computerized irrigation systems. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety instructions and procedures. Sufficient math skills to be able to calibrate water application rates, evaporation rates, and usage rates. Ability to multitask and coordinate projects through to completion and in a timely manner. Knowledge of soil types, plant needs, and weather reports. Knowledge, keen understanding, and operational skills of irrigation and plumbing systems. Ability to read and decipher landscape plans and irrigation manuals. Ability to install, operate, troubleshoot, and repair manual and/or computerized irrigation systems. Ability to perform irrigation tasks such as operate timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers. Must be able to work under minimal supervision. Ability to become proficient in the use of "AiM" Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software and the use of mobile technology. |
