Job Summary:
The Assistant Director for Residential Learning (1) coordinates the overall educational and learning facets of the Residential Life program serving an on-campus co-educational population of 6,000 students; (2) provides direction for student learning and the promotion of partnerships and initiatives supporting the academic success of residents; The Assistant Director is responsible for the direct and indirect supervision of the residential life specialty staff positions, student leadership groups, and the development of supportive living-learning communities that foster academic success and assist with their personal growth and development. This is an 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday position. At peaks times during the year the position will require evenings and weekends. Tasks may take place at any time a student or staff member requires the presence of the Assistant Director to resolve a particularly difficult or emergency situation. To remain updated on the latest techniques and programs in residence hall living, it is necessary to attend Regional and National conferences. The Assistant Director needs to reside within a 20 minute driving distance to campus. Must be able to periodically travel to all halls and suites within area of responsibility (up to 1.5 miles).

Position Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in College Student Development/Personnel, Higher Education.
Three years of experience in residence halls, administrative experience, or other student affairs areas. Experience in student organizational advising.
Experience in residential life programs, working with student groups and program development.
