Job Summary:
As the Business Development Associate for the Cowboy Innovations Accelerator at The Innovation Foundation at Oklahoma State University (OSU), you will be instrumental in building a rich innovation to commercialization, entrepreneurial ecosystem at OSU, with our partners, that fosters opportunity for inventors and entrepreneurs with the right resources at the right stage of technology and business development. The Cowboy Innovation Accelerator provides a full suite of pre-accelerator programming and funding that advances innovation-based, proof-of-concept technologies towards venture-backable startup companies or licensable technologies to established companies in the energy, aerospace and advanced mobility, agriculture, and One Health market segments. Startups and their innovators and entrepreneurial teams you help foster have the ability to generate economic development and diversification within the communities we live in across the state of Oklahoma. You will be part of an agile team that partners with: OSU innovators including faculty and students, aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs/founders, Cowboy Leaders Network mentors, and state-wide startup ecosystem providers.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, science/technology/engineering or related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of innovators, subject matter experts, professionals, managers, and business leaders in various settings
- Strong organizational skills and time management skills
- Excellent project and/or program management skills
- Detail-oriented, with a high degree of accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other document creation tools
- Entrepreneurial enthusiasm
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in business (such as an MBA), science/technology/engineering or related field.
- Experience in business development of customers and/or partners that results in successful utilization/deployment/sales associated with a program, project, product, or service
- Small business and/or startup company commercial grant funding procurement
- Small business and/or startup company founder/leader/employee
- Strong technical aptitude combined with sound business judgment
- Understanding of intellectual property-based business models
- Knowledge of business opportunities and trends, particularly in energy, aerospace and advanced mobility, agriculture, and/or One Health markets
- Experience with demand-generation marketing mix
- Experience organizing and hosting virtual and in-person events
- Startup accelerator participation and/or program management
