Job Summary :

Job Summary : This position will perform the followingcampus-wide skilled level duties.

  • Assist with development of the Slate CRM
  • Provides campus-wide database application development, support, and training.
  • Maintains virtual environments to support database applications.
  • Coordinates with third-party entities to resolve complex problems requiring action.
  • Generates data reports for both internal and external customers.
  • Stays informed of emerging technologies that could benefit the department and the University.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Develop and maintain desktop applications for various routine tasks.
  • Develop and maintain Cloud-based applications using AWS services.
  • Update existing applications to current IT standards.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Web front-ends, using ASP.NET technologies as well as open source scripting.
  • Process jobs on Student Information System (Banner) and submits jobs for automated processing.
  • Analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of database applications.
  • Server hardware and software installation to support database applications.
  • Database documentation, diagramming, design, technical support, and training.
  • Works with third-party vendor to coordinate installation and maintenance of database applications and hardware such as cash registers, card readers, and kiosks.
  • Provides second-level support and management of media content delivery system.
  • Assists in the development of reports using COGNOS Report Studio for campus departments and external entities.
  • Completes all mandatory training and participated in a minimum of two professional development each year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education :

    Associate Degree in technology-relateddiscipline, equivalent work experience, industry-recognized certification(s),or a combination of these.

    Work Experience : Must have one to two years ofexperience in the following areas.

  • Developing and maintaining desktop applications.
  • Developing applications using AWS or similar Cloud-based technologies.
  • Designing and using relational databases with SQL or similar language.
  • Working in small group settings to accomplish goals.
  • Installation and maintenance of desktop software and hardware.
  • Remote or virtualized desktop use.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Ability to work in small groups to analyze problems and develop timely solutions.
  • Ability to create and maintain applications using AWS QuickSight Amazon Connect, Kendra, QnABot, etc.
  • Ability to write sustainable code, using object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Working knowledge of designing and using relational and / or NoSQL databases.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and higher.
  • Ability to cooperate with other IT personnel to resolve database and virtual environment issues.
  • Must be service oriented with ability to work and respond effectively to diverse audiences of internal and external clients.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly, and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give / receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
  • High degree of initiative to work independently and also collaborate in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to. office computers, fax machines, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint).
  • Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience using SQL Server 2008 (or higher) Integration Services and Analysis Services.
  • Experience using any of the .NET family of languages and T-SQL.
  • Experience building dynamic websites using PHP and / or ASP.NET or other languages.
  • Professional or vendor-specific certification, especially Microsoft.
  • Experience with mobile application development.
  • Experience using Banner Student Information System and / or COGNOS Report Studio.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Certifications in AWS services and tools.
  • Working Conditions :

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends in an often times busy and noisy environment.
  • Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking and listening.
  • Duties require extensive use of computers, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Ability to properly handle computer and network components, use of both hands in repetitive actions, simple grasping, and fine manipulation.
  • Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift).
