What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Maintenance Technician II position at Oklahoma State University?
This position will assist with all Lake Carl Blackwell grounds maintenance phases and operations. Responsible for safely operating power equipment, including lawn mower, weed eater, small tractor, dingo, skid steer, chainsaw, and hand equipment. This position will be responsible for maintaining flower beds and landscaping by weeding, trimming, planting, and spraying for an all-around appearance. This position will maintain the main beach, volleyball and horseshoe pits by using equipment to drag the sand to maintain the areas. This position will develop, inspect, and maintain the walking, biking, and horse trails. The position will inspect, install, and maintain the playgrounds and cover areas. They are also required to assist with carpentry, minor construction, painting, plumbing tasks, and any task necessary to maintain the safety and appearance of the grounds at Lake Carl Blackwell. The position requires working outdoors and tolerating extreme temperatures and weather. Position operates machinery with potentially hazardous noise levels and moving parts. The position also requires frequent, strenuous physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, carrying, and lifting. The position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds. The position will require weekend and evening hours at various times of the year.
