Job Summary:
Job Summary:
Facilitates and assists in planning, organization, control and management of emergency management under the direction of the Emergency Manager for Oklahoma State University. Develops and implement disaster preparedness and training plans at the OSU campuses in Tulsa. Coordinates emergency plans with community officials and the local emergency planning committee. Research available grants and writes proposals for available funds.
Exceptional working conditions:
Will be called to duty upon activation of any Emergency Operations Center which could be a result of special events, natural or man-made emergency situations, and remain on the effective until emergency has passed.
Environmental Hazards:
May be exposed to whatever conditions are present in an emergency caused by extreme weather, hazardous materials, etc.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Acknowledging the EMS sector's emphasis on practical experience over formal education.
- Candidates must possess experience in emergency management or a related field, showcasing their capability to oversee emergency operations and collaborate effectively with professional leadership during crises.
Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge:
- Clear and Concise Communication
- Ability to create and complete Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in Emergency Management and parts of a basic plan.
- Ability to facilitate training sessions in emergency management
Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree in Safety/Emergency Management/Public Administration/Business
- 2 years of progressive work assignments in Emergency Management or crisis related field.
