Job Summary :
The Patient ServiceRepresentative is primarily responsible for ensuring high quality customerservice and continuation of care. The Patient Service Representative isutilized in performing typical front office functions and referrals.
Patient Service Representative must have knowledge of all areas related toinsurance and front office work. Excellent customer service skills andgood communication skills. Ability to multi-task while providing good patientcare. Primary skills include verbal and written communication with patients topromote continuity of care and follow-up as well as daily retrieval andscanning / filing of clinical encounter forms and reports for use by clinic staffduring patient care activities.
Check in and out of patients : ensuresdemographics, insurances, etc. are correct and complete. Collects copays andoutstanding balances. Prepare medical records / charts; obtain referringphysicians' notes; process reports; and answer phones and back-up Medical Records.
Environmental Hazards :
Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and carry 8-10 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.
