GENERAL SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, this position performs advanced level photography and videography services for the campus. Ultimately tells the story of OSUIT through imagery for use in publications, digital media, and broadcast media. This position resides in the Office of Marketing & Communications and will contribute as a team member toward the goal of enhancing the university’s image and creating a positive environment to attract and retain students, inspire financial contributions, recruit employees, and ultimately expand the university’s services to the public.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work as a contributing team member with Marketing & Communications staff as well as constituents across the university to provide video and photographic services that support the university brand.
- Utilize creativity as well as knowledge of lighting, composition, camera/lens combination, and post-production software.
- Perform the entire lifecycle of production from beginning to end, from the planning and producing of photo/video shoots to completing all post-production processing, archival and file storage.
- Perform digital imaging necessary to the production of high-quality photographic prints and images for exhibition, publication, research, or preservation purposes.
- Assist in real-time coverage of events.
- Work creatively under the pressure of deadlines and rapidly changing priorities.
- Assists in the support of university events including the set up and tear down.
- Other relative duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in photography, photojournalism or related field required. Bachelor degree preferred.
- Other combinations of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
- Demonstrates a history of ethical and professional behavior.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in marketing or communications, preferably for a service organization or educational institution.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with some project management experience.
- Experience working cross-functionally within a team.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and make contact with both internal and external constituents and diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Must be flexible, innovative, and self-motivated.
- Commitment to understanding and demonstrating the value of higher education and professional development.

- Valid Oklahoma driver’s license will be required if conducting the functions of the position requires the use of a personal or university vehicle.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to carry and move large photo/video equipment regularly.
- Normal office physical environment; ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
