Position Summary
Okland is currently looking for project engineers with MEP experience to join our team on a large-scale new semiconductor facilities project. This position will assist in the daily coordination of all field, office, and specialty contractor activities during the construction process, as well as coordinating with the MEP Project Manager, Superintendent, Field Engineers, and specialty contractors. The role reports directly to the MEP Project Manager and supports the MEP Superintendent. This is an entry-level position geared towards providing field-based experience in constructing projects and front-line management.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of the mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems installations performed professionally and expeditiously.
- Coordinating MEP drawings to facilitate installation, on-time delivery of materials to the job site, and updating the schedule for the construction processes as well as safety, quality control, and risk management processes.
- Scheduling and coordinating commissioning visits with the client.
- Reviewing the technical documentation of existing MEP systems.
- Studies specifications to assist planning procedures for construction on the basis of start and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
- Assist the MEP project manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Solicit prices from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers for review and approval by MEP project Managers. (This will be based on a list of subs and vendors established by the MEP Project Manager and MEP Site Manager at the beginning of project.)
- Assist in drafting subcontracts and purchase orders for the MEP project manager's review and approval.
- Assist in the preparation of various reports, i.e. cost to complete, monthly billings and status reports.
- Review all drawings, i.e., P&IDs, mechanical, electrical, shop, architectural, structural, etc., when they are issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times.
- Assist in pricing work, drafting changes and changing orders to be reviewed by the MEP project manager.
- Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or construction management, 1-3 years of experience in a related field.
- Possesses knowledge of commercial construction processes.
- Possesses knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Procore.
- Some cost estimating experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with clients, subcontractors, and other team members.
