Accelerate your career by joining Okta as a member of our Product Legal Team! As Corporate Counsel, Product Legal you’ll be helping to build a scalable global Product Legal function and providing frontline product counseling in support of Okta’s global product portfolio.
To succeed in this role, you will need to use excellent business judgment and critical thinking to provide pragmatic and effective legal solutions aligned with business objectives while mitigating legal risks. To be successful in our remote or hybrid work environment, you should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in view of evolving business conditions and goals. You will work closely with key internal business and technology partners on various strategic and tactical legal matters relating to the development and release of Okta offerings. You will support the introduction of new solutions and channels, ensure production readiness, build scalable compliance strategies, and address customer needs.
What you’ll be doing
- Counsel and work closely with Okta’s Product Management and Engineering teams through all stages of software product and cloud service life cycles to support development, readiness and release by reviewing and issue spotting on a wide range of issues related to intellectual property, open source, data privacy & security, marketing, competition, payment, and other legal and regulatory matters
- Develop strong and collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners across Okta to effectively deliver on complex projects
- Support M&A activities, including diligence and integration
- Review, draft and negotiate technology agreements related to Okta’s product portfolio, , inbound license agreements, partner agreements, consulting and development agreements
- Perform due diligence to ensure compliance with third-party agreements, open source licenses, security attestations, privacy policies, and government regulations and certifications
- Review order document language and draft offering specific terms for new and innovative products and release methods
- Help develop, document, and socialize scalable and repeatable practices and procedures for internal clients to access legal support

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between : $152,000—$228,000 USD
