The Data Engineering Team
Okta's Data Engineering team is focused on building platforms and capabilities that are utilized across the organization by sales, marketing, engineering, finance, product, and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background with the ability to tie engineering initiatives to business impact.
You will be part of a team doing detailed technical designs, development, and implementation of applications using cutting-edge technology stacks.
The Senior DevSecOps Engineer Opportunity
You’ll be an integral part of building and sustaining strong and effective relationships across Okta with our Engineering, Technical Operations, and Business Technology teams. As a Senior Data DevSecOps Engineer, you will act as a liaison between the Security organization and the Data & Insights team to design, build, secure and automate our infrastructure deployment processes.
What you’ll be doing
- Build scalable and extensible platforms, services, and tools using Java, Python, Go, and other relevant technologies, with a focus on ensuring automation, reliability, and security across multiple cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc.).
- Design and automate security best practices into our CI / CD deployment pipeline.
- Work closely with the data engineering, development, and IT teams to promote a culture of security awareness.
- Investigate vulnerability findings present within the environment, and coordinate remediation efforts in collaboration with other IT teams and subject matter experts.
- Ensure adherence to industry security standards (, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Prioritize security and compliance by maintaining up-to-date container images, applying security patches, and implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive information and systems for various regulatory compliance and industry best practices including ISO 27001 / 27017 / 27018 , NIST SP 800-53, SOC 2 and FedRAMP.

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between : $136,000—$204,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between : $152,000—$228,000 USD
