POSITION TITLE : Paraprofessional Educator / Autism Instruction Assistant
- Registered Behavior Technician preferred and / or could gain supervision hours)
HOURS OF WORK : Hours Daily / 172 Calendar Days Yearly
STATUS : Classified - Non-Exempt, Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY :
This position is responsible for assisting in the care, instruction, and supervision of students with additional needs in the classroom, resource room or self-contained classroom.
This position is expected to assist in clerical tasks, monitor student behavior, and provide feedback.
This position is part of the paraeducator team and reports to the Choose an item. certified staff.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
This position requires the performance of heavy work and requires the ability to exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, and 20 pounds of force constantly. This position requires frequent balancing, carrying, climbing, crawling, crouching, fine finger dexterity, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, sitting, standing, stooping, and walking.
The position must be able to discern and prepare data with adequate visual acuity to communicate information with staff and students. The position requires moving between buildings and at times remaining in a stationary position.
