HOURLY RATE: Certified/Classified $18.00; Students $12.00
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Summer Textbook Depository Assistant, you will play a vital role in the logistical operations of our textbook department. This position involves a variety of tasks, including receiving, processing, organizing, and shipping textbooks. You will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Processing:
- Assist with the unpacking and barcoding of incoming textbooks.
- Utilize the Destiny system to accurately enter barcodes and look up book titles.
- Organize and shelve new textbooks to maximize space and accessibility.
- Shipping and Distribution:
- Pack and ship textbooks to schools according to established procedures.
- Organize materials to be sent to teachers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Inventory Management:
- Put away materials returned from schools that are no longer needed.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movement.
- Maintenance and Organization:
- Recycle old textbooks and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Organize and clean the textbook department, including shelving and storage areas.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move boxes weighing 30-40 lbs.
- Ability to work in summer conditions with limited air conditioning in some locations.
- Ability to drive to different locations, or have the flexibility to reliably arrive at different work locations.
- General Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and move heavy boxes (30-40 lbs).
