Summary
The HR Generalist will assist in managing a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and policy administration, to support organizational goals and compliance with labor laws. The candidate will assist with HRIS questions, benefits and LOA requests while fostering a positive workplace culture. This role requires balancing administrative and strategic tasks to meet both employee and business needs.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Develop and post job advertisements on relevant platforms.
- Screen resumes and coordinate interviews.
- Conduct background checks and verify employment references.
- Complete pre-employment physical requirements.
- Assist on the onboard of new team members.
- Assist in the creation of offer letters to new candidates.
Employee Relations
- Address employee concerns and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Assist in investigations.
HRIS System
- Maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Generate reports and analytics to support decision-making.
- Transition team member records from paper-based to exclusively digital format.
Compliance & Audits
- Maintain compliance with labor laws and regulations, including EEOC and FLSA.
- Update HR policies and procedures to reflect legal changes and organizational needs.
- Manage and secure confidential employee records.

- Audit monthly invoices.
Benefits & LOAs
- Process new hires benefit enrollments.
- Process LOA requests: FMLA, Short term disability, NJ FLI, etc.
- Address team member inquiries.

Work Conditions
- Primarily office-based, with occasional time spent in the plant engaging with supervisors, managers, and team members.

- Potential exposure to warehouse or production equipment and materials, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in some areas.
