We are actively seeking experienced kennel assistants to join our team and contribute to the exceptional care provided to the animals at our facility. This role involves ensuring the well-being of the animals, including dogs, cats, and small animals, during their stay with us. The position requires flexibility in terms of availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have reliable transportation and a track record of dependable attendance. They should be open to learning, receiving training, and welcoming constructive feedback to enhance their animal husbandry skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to calmly and non-threateningly interact with animals of all types and sizes, including dogs and cats, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. The role requires the capability to work independently, complete tasks proficiently, and lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates must also be comfortable working in all weather conditions, including both heat and cold. While previous experience in animal care or related fields is preferred, highly qualified applicants and hard workers will have the opportunity to earn more and experience advancement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing general care for animals including walking, feeding, medicating, and bathing
- Interacting with clients in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintaining detailed records of animal feedings, treatments, and other important updates
- Participating in play activities and exercise routines with the animals
- Ensuring cleanliness by promptly cleaning up after the animals
- Keeping the kennel facility and outdoor environment clean and conducive to the animal's health and well-being; including sweeping, mopping, and yard maintenance.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.41 - $15.00 per hour
