Are you ready to have fun this summer and make a difference working with kids? Every summer, Old Colony YMCA works with hundreds of children in fun and educational summer outdoor day camp programs. We are looking for you to be a role model and guide campers through activities!
About The Role
- Guide and inspire campers aged 6 years old and 7 years old through exciting and educational outdoor activities.
- Summer program runs from June 16th to August 22nd.
- Mandatory training days: Branch dependent.
- Work schedule: Monday-Friday (no weekends), with shifts from 8:45 to 4:15PM with the opportunity for extra hours.
- Overseeing staff and children with in required age group
- Communicating with parents
- Helping support children of all abilities

- Minimum age requirement: 18 years old by June 1st.
- Up-to-date physical and immunizations (Same as required for school).
- Strong communication skills: ability to read, write, talk, see, and hear.
- Ability to lead age-appropriate games and activities.
- Creativity and resourcefulness are highly valued!
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year previous experience in camp or school-age programs or in teaching
- Certification if required for specialties ie. ropes, waterfront etc.
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Evidence of physical examination every two years
- Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella
- Certification of good health from a physician
- Must be able to walk around camp all day as well as stand, stoop and sit
