What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Assistant Director (13-18 Group Home) position at Old Colony YMCA?
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Assistant Director is responsible for insuring that all residents in the program receive quality care, and to ensure that all of their basic needs are consistently met within a safe, secure environment by trained professional staff, who reflect the mission of the Y. The Assistant Director is responsible to carry out all facility policies in a manner consistent with the Old Colony Y, and all State Regulatory agencies. In the absence of the Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for the overall administration of the program.
JOB FUNCTION:
- To oversee the day-to-day operation of the Program, by insuring all program policies and procedures are properly and consistently implemented.
- To develop and oversee the daily scheduling of all employees.
- To review and follow up on all incident reports on a daily basis.
- To insure all problems and concerns relevant to the day to day operation of the program are immediately addressed, or referred to the appropriate person.
- To help facilitate all client admissions/discharges.
- To serve as on-call-administrator for the Program.
- To facilitate and/or help facilitate all Supervisor and Staff Meetings.
- Assist with program development through grants, training and other networking opportunities
Supervision of Personnel:
- To supervise all employees that you are assigned at the Program.
- To screen, train, evaluate and supervise the performance of personnel.
- To assist with interviewing, hiring, training and supervision of all employees, in accordance with OCY personnel policies, CARF standards, EEC policies and procedures.
- To assist in supervising the interns and volunteers.
Requirements:
- 3 – 5 years prior Supervisory experience preferred.
- Bachelors Degree Candidate in Human Services or related field preferred. Associates Degree will be accepted.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs is required.
- Excellent reading and writing skills for contract and incident reporting.
- Valid Driver's license, proof of insurance and vehicle
- Ability to assist with the restraining of residents up to approximately 200 pounds; capable of consistently and effectively working with clients with severe emotional and behavioral needs. The position requires visual and auditory acuity in order to maintain program security.
- Able to perform the job duties under facilities/housekeeping.
