JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Camp Director, the Camp Waterfront Coordinator is to provide leadership and supervision to all counselors and create a safe, positive, supportive environment for all participants. The Waterfront Director is responsible for carrying out all duties related to his/her assigned program in a manner consistent with the aims of the Old Colony YMCA. The Camp Waterfront Coordinator will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities will reflect the mission of the Old Colony YMCA, and the regulating agency. The Camp Waterfront Coordinator will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty, and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties.
JOB FUNCTION - PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITY:
- Maintain and regulate aquatic facilities according to regulation
- Adhere to Ellis policies and procedures
- Oversee the direction of all lifeguards
- Organization, planning, and scheduling for lifeguards
- Develop and implement age-appropriate swim lessons
- Ensure a fun and safe environment
- Ensure an appropriate ratio at all times in aquatic facilities
- Ensure checklists are completed daily for aquatic facilities
- Adhere to all DPH regulations and Old Colony YMCA policies and procedures
- Adhere to all fiscal policies as outlined by the Association
- Ensure that a sanitary healthy environment is maintained
- Be familiar with emergency procedures
- Ensure checklists are completed daily
- Must be at least 21years old
- Must have at least 3 years supervisory experience in aquatics
- (**YMCA will provide Ellis Lifeguard Certification upon hire**) Must be Ellis Lifeguard Certified
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Evidence of physical examination every two years
- Negative Mantoux TB test
- Immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella
- Certification of good health from a physician
