What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Compliance Manager position at Old Dominion Electric Cooperative?
Essential responsibilities include:
- Overseeing compliance programs at ODEC-owned and operated facilities
- Responsible for monitoring internal control programs to ensure station/plant compliance with NERC and company procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining station/plant cyber security infrastructure and physical security control programs.
- Conduct periodic audits and assessments and provide recommendations and corrective actions.
- Provide input and recommendations on compliance impacts for new/replacement projects at the stations.
- Collect, analyze, and submit required NERC reliability
- Compiling and analyzing various data sources to identify plant issues, research, and develop recommendations, strategies, and protocols as appropriate.
- Gather, prepare, and review supporting documentation for each operating facility from various sources
- Communicate new evidence requirements to station leadership.
- Manage internal controls for monthly check sheets and the battery/relay maintenance schedule.
- Coordinating & collaborating with internal departments.
- Interface with station, corporate & contract resources tracking regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with corporate regulatory compliance department.
- Confer with management regularly and recommend specific actions related to NERC compliance matters and/or concerns.
- Provide honest, candid, and timely responses to appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and responsible management.
- Coordinate schedules and implement an ongoing internal self-audit process to ensure audit readiness.
- Reviewing, maintaining, and modifying administrative procedures and training documentation.
- Responsible for reviewing station policies and procedures and recommending implementation strategies to support ODEC’s compliance program initiatives.
- Develop internal processes to ensure compliance with NERC requirements.
- Update, maintain, and track NERC compliance training for ODEC facilities.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in power plant operations and maintenance to include compliance and/or audit support required
- Minimum 2 years’ NERC experience required
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Effective written and oral communications skills to all levels of the organization and within small groups
- Working knowledge of power plant maintenance systems
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Outlook required
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Travel details: Frequent day and overnight travel to ODEC-owned and operated facilities via automobile required
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Hand-eye coordination to use a keyboard and monitor daily to include working on a laptop and smartphone
- Interact effectively with others through verbal communication, video, email and text
- Work full days (8 hours) in a power plant facility to include an office environment with occasional evening and weekend work
- Frequently spend hours outdoors exposed to all weather conditions at a generation facility
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds
- Frequent day and overnight travel via automobile and commercial airline
Compensation:
Compensation range: Exempt position $136,392.00 - $151,547.00/year
Based on the requirements of this role, the target rate we anticipate paying the selected candidate is $136,392.00 annually. If an employment offer is extended, the rate offered will consider several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications. Depending on an individual's qualifications, the offered rate may exceed this target.
