What are the responsibilities and job description for the BSA/AML Analyst position at Old Dominion National Bank?
Summary:
The BSA Analyst will work under the direction of the Assistant BSA Officer to deliver compliance and investigative support pertaining to BSA, AML, USA PATRIOT Act, KYC, and OFAC regulations in the context of monitoring consumer and business banking transactions.
Key Functions:
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of AML policies, procedures, internal controls and processes to support BSA, AML, USA PATRIOT Act, KYC, and OFAC compliance.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects such as investigating alerts generated through AML monitoring software. AML alert monitoring, case investigations to ensure compliance with the AML/BSA Program and ensure that all matters of increased risk are properly addressed.
- Perform thorough case investigations, document findings, and present recommendations with supporting conclusions to the Assistant BSA Officer.
- Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence reviews of higher-risk transactions.
- Engage in ongoing training provided by the Bank to stay abreast of applicable rules and regulations, on the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and OFAC
- Assist the Assistant BSA Officer with the deployment, implementation and ongoing governance of the Bank’s automated AML/BSA monitoring system.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, including regulatory examiners, during audits and examinations to provide requested information as well as interim consultation.
- Utilize company systems to ensure that necessary anti-money laundering monitoring and reporting protocols are being deployed and utilized, and that corresponding investigations and CTRs/SARs are completed and timely filed as appropriate.
- Assist with the OFAC compliance processes, including the review and escalation of potential matches and documenting resolutions. .
- Perform tasks associated with monitoring the customer identification program (“CIP”), customer due diligence (“CDD”) and enhanced due diligence (“EDD”).
- Maintain and update various logs including but may not be limited to fraud, 314 (b), Case Investigations, SAR, internal referral (USA Form) log.
- Offer full support to the Assistant BSA Officer and undertake additional duties as assigned.
Competency:
- 1 to 3 years of banking experience.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating a high level of initiative in problem solving.
- Effective resource and time management, with organizational skills to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, follow through on projects and document results.
- Knowledgeable of BSA/AML/KYC and OFAC matters, as well as financial products and services and bank operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands: This position requires sitting or standing at a computer station for extended periods of time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position.
Travel: Occasional travel to other ODNB branches can be expected for this position.
Education and Experience:
- Bank branch experience
- Deposit or lending compliance background
- CAMS or similar equivalent certification a plus.
Work Authorization/ Security Clearance: Must be eligible to work in the United States.
