2nd Shift Assistant Production Supervisor
Location: Old Dutch Foods - Roseville, MN
Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Start Pay: $26.60 - $28.30

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Assistant Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and leading production personnel to maintain a standard of quality and quantity safely. The role involves directing, training, and assigning duties for shift employees. This position will also involve performing shift supervisor duties when needed and ensuring adherence to company policies, SQF/HACCP, OSHA, FDA, and EEOC regulations.
Job Duties:
- Assure that the packaging and process machines are running at the company’s standards and proper quality specifications.
- Assist in the direct supervision of shift personnel.
- Help with shift production and sanitation tasks.
- Assist with training, enforcing company practices, policies, and procedures.
- Report any problems that cannot be immediately handled to the production supervisor or manager.
- Recommend or influence decisions related to employee status changes (e.g., hiring, discipline, safety, promotion).
- Assist with coordination of production activities and workflow.
- Accurately and efficiently input daily totals and make production changes in the JDE system.
- Handle emergency situations in a calm and orderly fashion.
- Make sound, quick decisions in the company’s best interest.
- Motivate staff and secure a safe work environment.
- Direct tasks and schedule production staff when needed.
- Assist with packaging and sanitation tasks when necessary.
- Verify that personnel tasks are complete and meet company standards and that required paperwork is properly completed.
Job Qualifications:
- Three years of working experience in manufacturing processes and operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, HACCP/SQF, and company policies.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication and decision-making abilities, along with excellent people skills.
- Ability to be a team player and motivate staff.
Essential Job Functions:
- Motivate staff to work together to minimize downtime on packaging machines.
- Spend 70% of the workday maneuvering around machinery and 95% of the workday on the production floor.
- Climb ladders/stairs as needed throughout the day.
- Able to lift and carry loads weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Motivate and train staff to effectively clean and sanitize production equipment.
- Defuse potentially volatile situations.
- Maneuver cautiously on slippery floor surfaces.
- Work on elevated platforms.
- Work in hot, humid, cold, noisy, wet, and odorous environments.
- Communicate respectfully with others.
- Complete safety training and adhere to requirements, directing others as necessary.
- Work up to 60 hours per week with dependable attendance.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse employee population.
- Strong decision-making and leadership skills.
- Ability to take on responsibility.
