What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Old Dutch Vinegar and Mustard?
General Purpose of Job: The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle. Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Employee must be here and ready at scheduled time to ensure lines start on time:
- Supply empty bottles/containers and caps to production lines and receive empty containers/bottles from suppliers.
- Unload containers and other raw materials when received.
- Load oversea containers for export according to dock receipt/bill of lading.
- Responsible for overall accuracy of outgoing and incoming raw materials and finished goods as according to the bill of ladings. Note any discrepancies/damages on the bill of lading.
- Check all incoming and outgoing trailers. They should meet the following standards.Trailers must be clean. If a trailer is dirty reject the load if it contains incoming raw materials. If the trailer is going out, sweep and clean the trailer prior to loading. (if the outgoing trailer belongs to an outside carrier, provide the driver with a broom to sweep and clean his/her trailer.)
- Any incoming materials that are damaged or dirty should be rejected. If you reject a trailer/load, you must note why on the bill of lading paperwork then notify the office. Any paperwork from this load noting the rejection should be forwarded onto the office. (A copy will suffice)“Received Date” stickers should be placed on all incoming materials. The tag should be placed as close to the bottom of that pallet as possible and not on the shrink wrap.
- Report any breakage or damages to the office immediately.
- Lifting is involved in this position. (at least 50 lbs)
- Other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
- Responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
- This position is covered by alternative Forklift Operator.
- Follow and adhere to HACCP, SQF and GMP regulations.
- Responsible for immediately identifying non-conforming product or equipment to their supervisor at any step of the operation.
Education/ Experience:
- Candidates should have prior forklift experience and valid forklift license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
