Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist at Old Mission Wound Care. The specialist will be responsible for tasks such as accurately assigning medical codes, handling insurance claims, and working with Medicare billing. They will play a crucial role in ensuring proper reimbursement for the healthcare services provided.
Role Responsibilities
- Process insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring that patients are reimbursed for eligible expenses.
- Handle patient billing, including creating invoices, collecting payments, and posting charges to patient accounts.
- Manage patient accounts, including tracking payments, updating insurance information, and resolving any billing issues.
- Resolve billing disputes and issues with insurance companies and patients, working to find mutually agreeable solutions.
- Maintain accurate and organized billing records, including patient statements, invoices, and insurance claim forms.
- Stay up-to-date on insurance regulations and billing codes, attending continuing education courses and monitoring industry publications.
- Communicate with patients and their families about billing matters, explaining charges, payment options, and insurance coverage.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant billing laws and regulations, such as HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
- Use Tebra and Intellicure software for billing and coding, ensuring proficiency in both platforms.
- Learn and adapt to other software programs as necessary, such as practice management or electronic health record systems.
- Communicate effectively with other team members, including nurses, doctors, and administrative staff, to ensure accurate and efficient billing and coding.
Qualifications
- Medical Terminology and ICD-10 coding proficiency
- Experience with handling Denials and Insurance claims
- Familiarity with Medicare billing processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Certification in Medical Billing and Coding
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
