About The Position

In this newly created role, you will provide critical support to the Head of Legal across a variety of corporate, contractual, and regulatory matters. You will work closely with our compliance team on cross-functional initiatives while maintaining responsibility for a variety of corporate legal matters. Responsibilities

Responsibilities
- Review and negotiate various commercial agreements, including vendor agreements and trading-related agreements
- Implement and maintain a contract management system to organize historical and active agreements
- Support corporate governance processes including drafting resolutions and maintaining corporate records
- Assist with employment-related matters and maintaining HR-related legal documentation; Provide first-level response to employee and candidate questions and assist with drafting various HR communications
- Maintain and update data privacy policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Interpret and apply securities regulations and compliance requirements relevant to our trading business
- Monitor regulatory developments from SEC, FINRA, and other relevant agencies, analyzing impact on firm operations
- Assist with regulatory filings, examinations, and communications with regulatory bodies
- Collaborate with business teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical operational guidance
- Help assess regulatory risks and develop appropriate control measures
- Gain exposure to various aspects of legal work in the financial industry
- JD from an accredited law school with 2 years of professional legal experience; professional experience prior to law school may be considered
- Active bar membership in good standing
- Some exposure to financial services, securities law, or regulatory compliance preferred
- Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial or trading agreements
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and policy implementation a plus
- Understanding of corporate governance fundamentals
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Eager to learn about financial markets and trading operations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex regulatory concepts clearly
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
