Job Title : Underwriting Assistant
Location : Birmingham Branch Hybrid Schedule (2 days remote)

As an Underwriting Assistant , you'll be at the heart of the action. Your main responsibilities will include entering bid bond requests, completing Contract Bond Requests (CBRs), and following up with agents to ensure all necessary information is in place. You'll be pivotal in ensuring that new bond submissions are entered into the system, and will routinely follow up with agents for missing details. In addition to this, you'll assist with ordering credit reports and reviewing any discrepancies, helping to keep profiles up to date and accurate. You'll also manage reference checks, General Indemnity Agreements, and contractor work-in-progress schedules, ensuring smooth and efficient processing.
Your role as an Underwriting Assistant will extend to maintaining a suspense system, keeping underwriters informed, and assisting with accounting discrepancies or past due accounts. You will play a crucial part in providing Home Office Claims with necessary claim notices and supporting their requests. As a true team player, you will also handle administrative duties, ensuring the office runs smoothly by assisting with correspondence, filing, and maintaining office supplies and equipment.
