What are the responsibilities and job description for the HUMAN RESOURCES/PAYROLL position at Old Saybrook Public Schools?
- Perform all payroll functions – including taxes, deductions, union contracts, medical and life insurance, annuities, credit union, teachers’ retirement and union dues
- Enter hourly, salary, and daily substitutes time for bi-weekly payrolls
- Proper reporting to: Internal Revenue, FICA and Medicare, Department of Revenue, TSA 403B, TSA 457, Medical Payments, Life Insurance, Teachers’ Retirement, credit union
- Record deductions for each employee group for health insurance, Union dues, Disability Insurance and pension, and other deductions as required
- Maintain Direct Deposit Electronic Transfers
- Maintain records for Life Insurance, health, LTD, and other deductions as required
- Make payments to Department of Labor, IRS, State of CT Revenue Services
- Prepare Annual W-2 Wage Statements
- Maintain all Human Resources demographic information in system
- Maintain all attendance in P/R system
- Verification of new employees to the U.S. Department of Immigration and Naturalization Service
- Report data to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Social Services-Child Support Enforcement, OSHA, Bureau of Census
- Verification of Employment
- TRB Reports and monthly submissions
- New hire orientations
- Create initial hire letters, extra-stipend agreements, assignment letters
- FMLA processing
- Prepare ACA monthly reports for review and submission
- Maintain collective bargaining seniority lists
- Initiate COBRA notifications
- SDE reporting associated with staffing and certification
- Maintain flexible spending program enrollment and financial account
- Other related duties as assigned
