The Parts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the department through inventory management, supervising the performance and ongoing training of its staff, and maintaining an excellent record of positive customer experiences. This position is a selling position and is vital to the success of our dealership.
Job Description
- Responsible for departmental sales and profit achievement
- Establish departmental work schedule, balancing the workload of all employees.
- Set policies and procedures for P&A department
- Manage employee performance (evaluate and council)
- Assist Dealer Principal or General Manager with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and terminating employees
- Review stock orders, maintain needed stock for demand
- Supervise and maintain an accurate up-to-date inventory management and control system
- Generate and review Inventory reports from Dealer Information System
- Develop and maintain budgeted revenue and expense objectives
- Provides superior customer service to both internal (Service Department) and external customers
- Assist staff when needed
Requirements
- At least two years Automotive/Powersports Parts counter experience
- Experience with retail sales and inventory management
- Experience with hiring, training and leading people
- Prefer knowledge and experience with servicing of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and other products sold by the dealership, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn them
- Experience with Point-of-Sale and Parts & Service management computer software or the ability to quickly learn due to general knowledge and experience with computers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills as this position interacts regularly with all other departments within the organization
