Position Overview
The Loan Boarding Specialist is responsible for complex boarding's such as large complex deal structures, including specialized lending, commercial real estate and participations/syndications.
Essential Job Functions
- Partners with peers and leadership to manage the loan boarding workflow while meeting the required deadlines/commitments in a fast-paced environment where volume, efficiency, and accuracy are required.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial lending operations, credit structures and policies, loan documentation, funding, boarding and bank regulations.
- Collaborates with the deal team on core system structuring and boarding including providing guidance to bankers and doc prep using independent judgment and critical thinking.
- Ability to identify and quickly resolve issues and circumstances as they arise. Communicates with internal and external customers to provide resolution.
- Assist department Manager with development and maintenance of departmental written procedures as it relates to commercial loan boarding and communicates when changes occur.
- Collaborate with Loan Control team to ensure complete, accurate and timely submission of loan boarding requests.
- Training new team members and business partners on the requirements for commercial loan boarding requests.
- Maintains current knowledge of banking and lending rules and regulations and assures compliance with all bank policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring all loans received prior to the designated cut-off time are boarded the same day.
Additional Responsibilities at Senior Level:
- Responsible for boarding complex loan transactions involving attorney prepared or LaserPro documentation, specialized lending, commercial real estate, letters of credit and participations/syndications.
- Manages the boarding of attorney prepared loan documents and ensures that documents are reviewed against the credit approval while complying with Bank policy and Federal regulations.
Minimum Requirements - Level 1
High school diploma (or equivalent) and four or more years of commercial and/or consumer loan servicing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Requirements - Senior Level
High school diploma (or equivalent) and five or more years of commercial and/or consumer loan servicing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous leadership experience preferred.
Competencies
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Expert knowledge and experience using loan core systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, investigation, prioritization and conflict management/resolution skills.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to convey highly detailed information. Must be able to communicate with all levels within and outside the organization.
- Ability to work independently, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Preferred, but not required:
- Bachelor's degree
Location Details:
This position is considered a hybrid role. With management approval, an incumbent may work a combination of remote and onsite work to perform the regular responsibilities of the role. Actual schedule requirements may vary based upon business needs.
Job levels and hiring decisions are based upon both the business needs of the department and the qualifications of the incumbent. In some cases, an incumbent may meet the requirements of the senior level but may be hired in at a lower level based upon branch business needs and staffing dynamics.
Compensation & Benefits
Loan Boarding Specialist
Base pay: $22.10 - $28.00 per hour
Senior Loan Boarding Specialist
Base pay: $24.40 - $32.00 per hour
