We are looking for a responsible Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing support to our Pastor, Deacons and church committees. This position requires a dedicated employee who is able to act as the liaison between church members and community. Administrative Assistant responsibilities include preparing the weekly church bulletin; communicating online with church members, updating and maintaining our membership databases, managing our website and social media presence, (experience in building a website a plus). The ideal candidate should be organized, able to complete work based on deadlines, have excellent written and verbal communication as well as the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. If you have previous experience as a Secretary or Administrative Assistant and would like to work 10 hours per week, as part of a welcoming and supportive church community, we'd like to meet you. Responsibilities

  • Return phone calls
  • Create and publish bulletins and newsletters
  • Manage church website, calendar and email
  • Work with members of the church community and Pastor
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures
  • Order office supplies
  • Maintain contact lists
  • Manage building access
  • Act as the point of contact for community and church members
  • Act with discretion when handing confidential information.
  • Other Administrative Duties as required.

Skills

  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of office equipment
  • Proficiency with MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, in particular)
  • Experience with Mac Software
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong social media experience, ability to manage a website, Facebook and more.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
