What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food and Beverage Team Member position at Old Sturbridge Inc.?
Old Sturbridge Village is looking for a food and beverage team member. Under the supervision of the Retail Food and Beverage Manager, working within our Restaurant Operations Department, the employee will provide an excellent dining experience to Village patrons in the Bullard Tavern and other locations as needed. This role will contribute to Old Sturbridge Village’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
Old Sturbridge Village, the largest outdoor history museum in the Northeast, depicts a rural New England town of the 1830s. Two to Three days per week. Must be available to work Wednesday – Sunday. Must have flexible availability, and some nights and holidays will be required.
Essential Duties:
· Present menu selections, answer questions and make suggestions regarding food and beverage choices
· Basic cash handling skills
· Promotes diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
· Operate a cash register, make change, in accordance with company policies and issue receipts accurately
· Light food prep, understanding of sanitation, and knowledge of presentation of food
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Be able to lift over 25lbs.
· Must be able to stand long periods of time
· Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.
· Must have reliable transportation
· Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
