Our 164-bed inpatient services for adolescents through senior adulthood offers comprehensive and individual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning. We also offer a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program to ensure the continuum of care for our patients. Must be highly organized with strong multitasking skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Financial Counselor is responsible for the following:
- Self-pay collections at the time of services prior to patient discharge and beyond.
- Estimating patient balances by utilizing insurance verification information to calculate what the patient is expected to pay prior to discharge.
- Obtaining necessary documents, pay stubs, and other needed information for determination of charity care.
- Maintains collections logs with accuracy.
- Reports collection trends, problems/issues arising out of self-pay collections.
- Maintain current on all private and government payer billing regulations and policy.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years' experience in patient collections
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to interact with diverse and stressful situations in calm and professional manner.
- Must be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Thorough understanding of third party payer payment methods. Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to provide Service Excellence to all customer of facility.
- Excellent time management skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
