Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve deli items including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches while adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, ensuring all equipment and surfaces are properly sanitized.
- Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling additional products.
- Operate deli equipment such as slicers and scales safely and efficiently.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain a balanced cash register.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation of the deli department.
- Follow all health regulations and company policies regarding food handling.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or the restaurant industry is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
