The Summer Lifeguard at Oldfield Pool is responsible for ensuring the safety of pool members and guests, enforcing pool rules, and maintaining a clean, safe swimming environment. This role includes executing daily opening and closing procedures, as well as storm procedures when necessary. Lifeguards will also assist with the cleanliness of the pool and surrounding areas and will interact with pool members and guests to maintain a welcoming and safe atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide water rescues and administer CPR or First Aid when necessary to injured or ill patrons.
- Monitor the actions of swimmers and maintain discipline in and around pool facilities.
- Enforce pool and water safety rules in a tactful and effective manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the pool and surrounding areas.
- Greet and assist pool members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down umbrellas.
- Ensure the pool is set up according to protocol before the start of each shift and properly returned to protocol at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a polite, courteous, and professional attitude with all members and guests.
Qualifications:
- Must possess and maintain current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
- Must possess and maintain current American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work 1-2 holiday weekends (Memorial Day Weekend, Fourth of July, and Labor Day).
- Must be able to meet physical requirements, including sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods in outdoor environments, including extreme temperatures.
- Ability to enter and exit the pool unassisted at any time.
- Ability to carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable in and around water with proficiency in swimming.
