Job Overview
The Dean of Global Programs is a key academic leader responsible for the development and administration of Dallas International University’s global academic programs. These programs include those delivered face-to-face in other countries and/or those delivered fully by distance in languages other than English. The Global Academic Dean ensures the highest standards of academic quality, cultural relevance, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities and Activities ii
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for DIU’s global academic programs, ensuring alignment with the university’s mission and vision.
- Oversee curriculum design, implementation, and quality assessment for DIU’s global academic programs
- Engage faculty and staff to ensure culturally contextualized, high-quality education tailored to the needs of diverse student populations.
- Coordinate course scheduling and instructor travel itineraries for face-to-face instruction at international sites.
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of faculty teaching in global programs.
- Oversee budgets for global programs, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with strategic goals.
- Represent DIU’s global academic initiatives to expand enrollment and partnerships.
Qualifications
- Doctorate (preferred) or master’s degree in a relevant field such as education, international development, or global studies.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse cultural contexts.
- Experience in leading programs or initiatives, preferably in an international or multilingual context.
- Strong understanding of online and cultural issues related to education.
- Proven ability to manage academic operations, including curriculum development, faculty support, and compliance.
- Experience with higher education accreditation processes is a plus.
- Bilingual fluency in English and another language is required
Hours
- Full-time. Normal Dallas office hours are 9-5, Monday through Friday. However, this position may require work at flexible hours due to the time zone differences between DIU’s global academic programs.
- International travel required as needed.
Physical Requirements
Good physical health is required, especially for international travel.
