What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Social Worker_Olentangy Schools position at Olentangy Local School District?
There will be a School Social Worker position (195-day employment contract) available within Olentangy Schools. The School Social Worker assists families and staff in coordinating and obtaining services for at-risk youth and provides direct services to students as needed.
Qualifications for the position include: a valid Ohio certificate/license in the area of School Social Worker. Alternative to the above qualifications as superintendent and/or board of education may find appropriate.
Essential functions: provides awareness of, and access to, community services for families with children identified with specific needs; communicates with families through home visits, conferences, telephone calls, and letters; advocates for the needs of the child; assist with referrals to school nurse, psychologist, speech therapist, and others; responds immediately to crisis situations; attends conferences and workshops as appropriate to maintain an awareness of common problems for specific age groups; and performs other duties as requested by the Director, Student Well-Being and Community Services.
