Job Description
Experienced Nurse Practitioner with experience in Geriatric Behavioral Healthcare to work with a comprehensive, multi-faceted private psychiatric practice consisting of over thirty clinicians serving office, nursing home and hospital patients in the Metropolitan Boston area for more than 25 years
The staff consists of clinical nurse specialists, licensed social workers, nurse practitioners, psychologists, psychiatrists and licensed mental health counselors who supply quality, personalized behavioral health treatments to those who need it when recovering trauma, life changing events or addictions.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide continuity of care for an established caseload of elderly patients residing in Nursing Homes.
Skill in working with a complex population is required for this position. Position allows for independence and to serve as a key member of the clinical team. All clients are treated within the context of a treatment team.
Focus primarily on the population with identified or suspected behavioral/mental health conditions and “adopts” these patients to add psychiatric expertise to the medical management plan and mitigate any negative impact that behavioral conditions can have on patient overall health and well-being
Provide evaluation & treatment services for high functioning clientele. Prescribe and manage Medications. Offer appropriate services and communicate changes at first available opportunity if unable to reach and emergent situation
Flexible schedule available, Provider will oversee patients at 1-2 nursing homes with the same schedule (No running all over the place) No on call or weekend responsibilities included in position. Psychiatrist supervision provided
