Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Grocery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our grocery department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for providing excellent customer service. As the Grocery Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring product availability, and maintaining high standards of store presentation.
Duties
- Manage inventory levels by overseeing stock ordering, receiving, and merchandising. Items in ads/promotional programs are given extra care to keep stock for our customers.
- Ensure all merchandise is of current date with proper rotations by you and the stocking crew. This includes facing shelves regularly throughout the day for best customer appeal.
- Maintain a well managed product base and keep up with signage to help customers with ease.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked grocery area that meets company standards.
- Report any problems to the store director (ex. short product dates, safety issues)
- Address customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and effective phone etiquette.
- Collaborate with upper management to develop sales strategies and promotional activities.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in stock management and purchasing processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail software applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
- Previous experience in training development is advantageous.
