Cook - Rotational Overview
Prepare breakfast, soups, meats, vegetables, fried/grilled items, desserts, breads, and other orders in a restaurant setting, working a rotational shift in a remote location.
Primary Responsibilities

Work Environment
Work is performed primarily indoors in a restaurant, heated/freezer environment. Some exposure to weather conditions while working outside of the restaurant when performing other tasks on the facility.

Cook - Rotational Overview
Prepare breakfast, soups, meats, vegetables, fried/grilled items, desserts, breads, and other orders in a restaurant setting, working a rotational shift in a remote location.
Primary Responsibilities
- Estimate food requirements and orders food from supplier or procures food from storage. Prices items on menu.
- Take orders from tickets.
- Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, roaster, and steam kettles.
- Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines.
- Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
- Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
- Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills.
- Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station.
- Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
- Complete daily reconciliation of cash drawer when manager is not present.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience
- 1 year certificate from a college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience (required).
- 2 years experience within a kitchen setting with volume production (required).
- Ability to obtain Food Workers Card http://www.dec.alaska.gov/eh/fss/fwc/fwc_home.html.
- Ability to work in a remote location on a 3-week rotational schedule.
- Well-groomed and willing to follow dress requirements.
- Ability to learn basic task and follow instructions.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to create, updates, and manage menus.
- Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
- Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.
- Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong attention for detail.
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
