Fuels Laboratory Technician/Supervisor Overview
Perform complex and specialized tests. Perform daily lab activities and determine whether products meet industry and USAF standards. Maintain a complete fuels distribution system(s) to receive, store, transfer and issue both aviation and ground fuels. Supervise three other employees to meet Contract requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Required
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee must be able to stand, walk and sit for a prolonged period of time; use hands and/or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; operate office equipment; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close and distant vision. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
Travel: Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination.
Work Location: The employee will primarily be in Buckley SFB, CO.
Work Environment
Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain, cold and extreme heat, near moving mechanical parts and includes occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and to vibration.

Fuels Laboratory Technician/Supervisor Overview
Perform complex and specialized tests. Perform daily lab activities and determine whether products meet industry and USAF standards. Maintain a complete fuels distribution system(s) to receive, store, transfer and issue both aviation and ground fuels. Supervise three other employees to meet Contract requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintains quality control of petroleum fuel.
- Operations and maintain laboratory test equipment
- Collects and analyzes product samples from receipt sources, bulk storage tanks, and dispensing equipment
- Documents analysis results in FMD and reviews quality trend analysis records.
- Establishes a sample correlation program with the aerospace fuels area laboratory to ensure the integrity of the base-level analysis procedure
- Collects fuel samples from crashed aircraft and submits them to the area laboratory for full specification analysis.
- Ensures an effective product segregation and recovery program is implemented.
- Implements the lock out / tag out program to prevent the use of substandard fuel or facilities.
- Document and communicate issues regarding quality, instrumentation, production or supply
- Trouble shoot, adjust and repair routine equipment issues
- Perform analytical tests in accordance with USAF Technical orders
- Fuel civilian or military with mobile ground fuel or with fixed refueling equipment.
- Operation bulk storage, checkpoint, accounting and Lab.
- Other duties may be assigned from time to time, to include dispatch refueling units, and hose pulling.
- Ensure all requirements are met By regulations, PWS and Contract. Work alongside the Government and build a working relationship.
- There will be the responsibilities of Supervising three employees to ensure contract is meet.
- At least one (1) year’ experience working in a laboratory environment
- Two years’ experience working in a USAF Fuels specialty or civilian equivalent
- Completed USAF or Fort Lee Fuels Quality Control Course with SEI.
- USAF lab certified commercial equivalent required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain airfield Competency Card.
- Ability to pass a color vision test.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite of products including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
- Demonstrate a good attitude and ability to Supervise a team.
- Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.
- Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.
- USAF fuels Quality Control Course or Army quality course at FT Lee VA
- USAF fuels basic courses.

- Must have a current US Government NACI or be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries.
- Must be a U. S. Citizen
- Must be able to maintain a NACI.
