Job Overview:
The Temporary Payroll Assistant supports the payroll department with basic administrative and data entry tasks. This is a short-term assignment with 20 hours per week work schedule, Monday-Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with data entry of employee time records and payroll-related information as assigned.
- Verifies accuracy of payroll documents and updates employee records as assigned.
- Supports the payroll team with basic clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, and organizing payroll documents.
- Responds to simple payroll-related inquiries from employees or directs them to the appropriate team member as assigned.
- Assists in processing payroll adjustments under supervision and as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality of payroll information and adheres to company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
- Basic understanding of payroll principles is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
