Accountant (m/f/d) / Bilanzbuchhalter (m/w/d)
based in Schwalbach/Ts. (Frankfurt Rhein Main area)
As part of our international finance team, in this role you will be responsible for the effective and reliable operation of the accounting and for compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP, Tax, VAT and Legal reporting requirements for several legal entities within our EMEAI region.
With the support of the international finance team, the accountant is collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information. You will be part of the finance team and at the same time working in a very international environment. Being under the functional supervision of the Business Finance and Accounting Manager EMEAI and as part of the functional network in Europe, occasional domestic and internationally travel is required.
What challenges can you expect?
Accounting month end process for several EMEAI legal entities, including preparing general ledger entries and account reconciliations
Responsibility for the proper accounting on the financial statements, including areas such as revenue recognition, accruals, reserves, contingencies, debt, pensions and account reconciliations
Understanding and evaluating all transactions impacting the EMEAI legal entities
Using SAP capabilities to evaluate and analyze financial transactions
Assist in the preparation of annual statutory statements and tax filings
Ensure business processes are performed in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Provide necessary information for the internal and external auditors
Prepare analysis and provide support for Olin Corporate US GAAP compliance
Understand and ensure compliance of EMEAI legal entities with Corporate Accounting policies and procedures
Perform analysis of actual results vs. forecast, budget and prior year, identifying trends and recommending courses of action
How do you convince us?
This position requires a Bachelor degree (B.S.) or equivalent in business economics or accounting, Certified Charted Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter)
3 to 5 years of relevant experience within accounting department
USGAAP, IFRS experience, German GAAP (HGB) is a Plus
Advanced computer skills with SAP and Excel preferred
Fluent in English, both verbal and written
Proactive, hands-on mentality; convincing, motivated, team player
The ability to present ideas and have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as good human relations skills is required
