Focus: Olin is seeking an experienced, high-energy, dynamic Site Leader to join our winning team and drive the manufacturing operations and related activities at our Plaquemine, Louisiana site. The Plaquemine site is an integrated chlor alkali complex with more than 200 employees. Working with a team of senior managers, the Plaquemine Site Leader will have overall responsibility for directing, planning and coordinating site operations, engineering, maintenance, materials movement, quality control, environmental, health and safety- including emergency response. The role also requires a strong partnership and productive relationships with the local community authorities, leaders and regulatory agencies.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develops and executes site vision and strategy.
- Oversees site operations to ensure safety, production efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction and cost-effective management of resources.
- Monitors established performance indicators, including variance reports, production reports, quality reports and injury reports. Ensures site target scorecard is accurate and visible to all employees.
- Works closely with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) to drive a strong personal safety, process safety, and environmental improvement plan to achieve EH&S goals.
- Develops and implements effective preventative maintenance strategies in conjunction with the site Maintenance leader.
- Efficiently controls costs and delivers financial targets.
- Manages personnel planning, staffing, and performance processes. Support the growth and development of the site and its employees by participating in and leading strategic initiatives.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree* in Engineering or other technical field; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 15 years combined related chemical operations and manufacturing, maintenance and engineering experience with a minimum 5 years larger/medium team leadership and minimum 5 years asset leadership. Chlor alkali experience preferred.
- Proven ability to successfully lead a medium to large manufacturing site and teams, with a focus on continuous improvement for people and processes
- Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local environmental and workplace standards as they apply to operating areas, including OSHA, EPA, USCG, and DOT
- Previous experience / broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies
- Demonstrated strong leadership, team building, and advanced coaching skills
- Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills
- Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
