We are seeking adventurous, hospitable, experienced servers to join the team at our James Beard Foundation award-nominated restaurant in Webster Groves.
Founded in 2016, Olive Oak serves dinner 7 nights a week with menus that change daily. Led by Executive Chef Jesse Mendica, our kitchen produces menus that adapt with the seasons and feature the best of local and imported ingredients we can source. We consider our food to be refined but approachable, and our guests come to Olive Oak to enjoy anything from a burger and a can of Busch to a coursed meal with oysters and ribeye steaks. We offer a wide array of vegan options and take great care to accommodate guests with allergies and/or dietary restrictions.
We are first and foremost seeking servers with the personality, confidence, and maturity to provide exceptional hospitality to our guests. We are seeking applicants who enjoy engaging with the public, who possess charisma, humility, and the right amount of attitude to entertain as if they were hosting a party in their own home. Olive Oak is fortunate to have a large local following, and our guests have grown accustomed to a level of hospitality that we will never compromise.
Naturally, we are also seeking servers with great experience and backgrounds serving in full-service, hospitality-driven restaurants. We are ideally seeking applicants with a passion for food and our industry in general, who possess well above-average literacy in ingredients, global cuisines, wine, spirits, and beer. Our menus change daily, and applicants to Olive Oak should be easily adaptable to this routine.
Responsibilities for servers at Olive Oak include:
- Arrive before service to set up restaurant
- Attend daily line-up meetings for food, beverage, and service updates
- Provide exceptional hospitality throughout dinner service
- Delegate tasks to server assistants when needed
- Perform light side-work duties after service
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage offerings at all times
This is a nighttime-only position with hours that will generally range from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Full-time and part-time hours are both available.
