Rehabilitation Specialist - STRTP
Overview
The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist will be responsible to assist clients in learning the skills necessary to interact successfully with adults and peers across all settings. Olive Crest offers a great opportunity to use your God-given talents to influence the teenage boys who experienced, or are at high risk for sexual exploitation, substance abuse and mental health challenges. We will offer on-the-job and on-going training and development, opportunities for growth and promotion. Our STRTP clients have successfully transitioned into lower levels of care due to the care and support of our direct care staff. Qualified candidates must possess a related bachelor’s degree and have related work experience, be at least 21 years of age, have a current CA Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Please note, there are two different schedules available for this role:
- Tuesday-Friday 11AM-8PM | Saturdays 9AM-530PM | OFF Sundays & Mondays
- Monday-Thursday 11AM-8PM | Sunday 9AM-530PM | OFF Saturdays & Fridays
Job Responsibilities:
- Creates opportunity for clients to practice pro-social behavior, problem solving, and coping skills, which will prepare the clients to transition to a less restrictive family setting with minimal reliance on formal supports.
- Identify, access and use resources and relationships to build an on-going support network for the client.
- Provide one-on-one interactions with the client within the community, orienting client toward socially acceptable activities, practicing appropriate behavior rather than talking about behavior, identifying and reinforcing behaviors, including being physical/ playing sports, activities and skills in areas where client has confidence, and creating fun and reinforcing environments to teach to skill deficits.
- Adhere to all program requirements and timelines, including scheduling of sessions, documentation, team consultations, staff meetings, trainings, and supervision.
- Attend Child and Family Team meetings when directed to do so, with the purpose of supporting the client to participate and assisting the team to develop appropriate interventions.
