Behavioral Specialist – Outpatient Program
The Behavioral Health Specialist provides field/home-based direct service to children and families (intensive home-based services, care coordination, and linkage to resources) as part of a client’s specialty mental health service. This position works independently in the family’s home and in a variety of community and/or treatment settings.
(Full-time, 40 hours weekly) Under the guidance of the Program Supervisor and functioning as a member of an assigned team, the Behavioral Specialist provides direct service to children and families as identified in an individualized plan of care. This position works independently in the family's home and in a variety of community and/or treatment settings. Provides support services and skills training to children and family members including but not limited to behavioral modification programs, independent living skills, home management/household services, transportation assistance and temporary in-home caretaker. Candidates are required to work within a team, be flexible, dependable, organized and have good communications skills; both verbal and written is required. Qualified candidates MUST possess a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and a minimum of one year experience working with at-risk children/youth OR four years relevant experience working with at-risk children/youth. Must also have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, good driving record, current auto insurance, and be able to pass a criminal background screening.
