Overview:
The Teller provides direct member services and reports to the Operations Manager I.
Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
· Greet and welcome members to the Credit union in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
· Perform routine member transactions (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, and check cashing), open new accounts, and facilitate changes to existing accounts.
· Keep members informed of Credit Union products, services and policies, including, but not limited to, account options, interest and dividend rates, payroll deduction options, loan products, online access, and other services.
· Balance cash drawer at the end of shift and report variances to supervisor immediately.
· Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products, services, and policies.
· Maintain a keen awareness of potentially fraudulent activities and report suspected activity immediately to a supervisor or manager.
· Maintain a neat and orderly workstation. Ensure all documents and supplies are stocked and stored appropriately to safeguard documents and member privacy.
· Will regularly be assigned to function as a Telephone Teller. While performing this function, the incumbent will answer all incoming telephone calls, provide information, answer questions, direct/transfer the caller to the appropriate staff member, and process incoming mail and email transactions.
· Promote and maintain a positive image of the Credit Union to assigned personnel, members, and the community.
· Provide input to the supervisor for enhancing department, employee development, quality of work and service to members.
· Ensure accounting functions meet and demonstrate compliance with standards set by all regulatory agencies and Credit Union policies.
· Actively participate in staff meetings to communicate new developments and general information.
- Strong knowledge of basic math and ability to perform calculations accurately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong customer relationships
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Proficient in using computer systems and software for transaction processing
- Knowledge of fraud prevention and detection techniques is a plus
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues
