1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 The purpose of this operating procedure is to establish and define the authority, accountability, reporting relationships, responsibilities, duties, and measures of performance of the Marketing Representative of Oliveira’s Restoration.

2.0 BASIC FUNCTION

2.1 The function of the Marketing Representative is to seek, contact, and negotiate with potential and current customers and attain sales for the Company.

2.2 Achieve or exceed the budgeted sales and profits as presented by the Sales & Marketing Director.

2.3 Produce enough new profitable business to ensure the growth and profit goals of the Company.

2.4 Prepare all quotations not covered by the normal pricing policy in conjunction with the Sales & Marketing Director.

3.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

3.1 The Marketing Representative is selected by and reports to the Sales & Marketing Director.

3.2 The following report directly to the Marketing Representative:

4.0 REQUIREMENTS

4.2 EDUCATION

4.2.1 Required: High school diploma or equivalent

4.2.2 Preferred: College degree in business with a major in sales or marketing

4.3 LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

4.3.1 Required: None

4.3.2 Preferred: None

4.4 EXPERIENCE

4.4.1 Required: Requires 2 years of experience in sales of commercial and residential accounts, preferably in the construction industry.

4.4.2 Preferred: Not applicable

4.5 SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

4.5.1 The ability to understand the needs of business accounts through conversational interaction and converting those needs into sales. Very helpful and desirable if past experience was in CA.

4.5.2 Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry/trade magazines and publications.

4.5.3 Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.

4.5.4 Excellent knowledge of the industry and trends impacting the business.

4.5.5 Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing.

4.5.6 Ability to do routine business math calculations including computation of sales costs and quotes.

4.5.7 This position deals with assertive personalities in a highly competitive industry and will be stressful to some in making the sales calls and sales quotes.

4.6 WORKING CONDITIONS

4.6.1 The work for this position will be divided between a climate controlled, smokefree office environment for ten to fifteen (10-15%) of the time, with the remainder of the time spent outside and in other business locations while making sales calls on potential and current customers. From this movement, the employee will encounter varying temperatures. The normal auto and air travel hazards will apply. Travel will be in all types of weather including heavy rain and below freezing temperatures with possible snow conditions.

4.6.2 The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be higher in the offices, and in the outdoors. Higher noise levels can also be encountered while visiting customers’ sites.

4.6.3 Work will be typically performed from eight to ten hours per day, five days per week. Some days will contain early or late sales meetings and meetings with customers. Some weekends may apply if emergency calls comes through.

5.0 AUTHORITY

5.1 The Marketing Representative is selected by the Sales & Marketing Director and is delegated the authority to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of the position.

5.2 Contact potential customers and solicit business.

5.3 Entertain potential customers and existing accounts within the budget established by the Sales & Marketing Director.

6.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

6.1 Remains visible in the business community and in the marketplace in which the company operates and provides a positive and professional image for the company.

6.2 Maintains an accurate and up to date customer account list with detailed information for this position.

6.3 Ensures that all company transactions are conducted in an ethical and prudent manner.

6.4 Settles all customer complaints at this level and seeks guidance of the Sales & Marketing Director as required.

6.5 Maintains a well-groomed, professional appearance appropriate for the position and situation in which the Marketing Representative may be involved.

6.6 Attends trade shows, conventions, seminars, and other meetings to enhance his/her professional knowledge or to promote the Company. Attendance will be directed by the Sales & Marketing Director.

6.7 Keeps updated on the events in the industry and marketplace in order to take advantage of new changes.

6.8 Follows all instructions (written and verbal) as given by the Sales & Marketing Director.

6.9 Remains in constant contact with established customers and vendors to ensure their satisfaction with the company's products and services. Make sure all vendor referral payouts are up to date and not missing.

6.10 Maintains or exceeds the assigned level of sales volume and profit margin.

6.11 Coordinates sales and quotes with customers, Account Executives, and other office personnel.

6.12 Meets regularly with the Sales & Marketing team to ensure proper information flow and adherence to stated goals and objectives.

6.13 Develops systems or procedures for following through on leads, contacts, and commitments. Become thoroughly familiar with the PSA CRM system.

6.14 Completes and submits all reports required and requested in a complete and timely manner.

6.15 Ensures the acquisition of potential customers by appropriate means including, but not limited to, direct mail, advertising, promotions, referrals, internet leads, and direct sales calls.

6.16 Ensures that an accurate recording system is maintained on all proposals submitted to customers.

6.17 Follows the proper implementation of normal operating procedures.

6.18 Helps to develop and implement effective and efficient sales and marketing programs with the concurrence of the Sales & Marketing Director.

6.19 Attends all the before and/or after hours sales meetings.

6.20 Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all required paperwork submitted for quotes.

6.21 Keeps informed on competitors' selling policies, tactics, services, and prices offered.

6.22 Follows up on delinquent accounts and collects receivables.

6.23 All other duties and tasks as may be directed from time to time by the Sales & Marketing Director.

7.0 MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE

7.1 The Marketing Representative of Oliveira’s Restoration shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished:

7.1.1 Meeting or exceeding sales volume goals as established by the Sales & Marketing Director.

7.1.2 Meeting or exceeding profit margins as established by the Sales & Marketing Director.

7.1.3 All paperwork is forwarded to the office in an accurate and timely manner.

7.1.4 Conducts himself/herself in a professional and cooperative manner throughout the year.

7.1.5 Customer satisfaction is high, with complaints held to an acceptable minimum as established by the Sales & Marketing Director.

7.1.6 Meets the quotas for sales, existing customer contacts, contacts with potential customers, and other performance measures as established and discussed with the Sales & Marketing Director.

7.1.7 Maintains professional appearance all times.

7.1.8 Provides a high degree of cooperation and interaction with other employees and departments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,360.00 - $110,000.00 per year
