Job description
Oliver & Fox, PA, represents injured workers and first responders in workers’ compensation and pension claims across the state. The office is located in Tampa/Westchase. We are seeking two full-time paralegals (workers' compensation experience is a plus).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing your designated clients’ files
- Communication with clients, opposing attorneys and their staff, judges’ offices and doctors’ offices
- Coordinating and scheduling various events
- Preparing and e-filing documents and pleadings
- Obtaining medical records
- Responding to discovery requests
- Preparing for trial by preparing exhibits and trial workbooks
- Managing your attorney’s calendar
- Monitoring deadlines
- Performing status checks
- Performing additional duties as required
The ideal candidate should possess the following experience / skills:
- Familiarity with F.S. 440 and 60Q Rules
- Experience preparing pleadings and e-filing documents
- Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures and protocols
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal / customer service skills with the ability to maintain a positive attitude
- Proficient with Adobe, Word and Outlook
- Understanding of case management software
- Excellent organization skills with great attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of day to day operations in a legal office
- Ability to navigate and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Paralegal Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and/or GED (required)
- 2 years of paralegal experience(preferred)
- Associate degree or comparable work experience in the workers’ compensation system (preferred)
**Compensation commensurate with experience
